Today something happened and it really triggered me.  Do you ever get imposter syndrome at work or in your business? It hit me big time. I thought I had that handled already but apparently not.

I was listening to someone on a podcast and they were ranting about so many people that claim to be certified or licensed to do certain things like coaching or consulting.  My mind started thinking, yup, I knew it...I'm a fraud. So what am I going to do with my life now? I spent so much time and money learning everything I learned and continuing my education in life coaching.

I spent so much time putting ebooks and journals together.  What a waste of time.

Or was it?

Duh Nancy. I just said it a minute ago. "I spent a lot of time learning" and attending classes, lectures, seminars, networking events. I invested money into something I knew in my heart I wanted to learn to do so I could help other ladies live a better life. Their dream lives.

That is proof that I am not an impostor. Why do we do this to ourselves? It's hard to put your doubt aside fully. It's definitely a daily job.

Impostor syndrome is just doubt

How do you put your doubt aside? You first need to acknowledge the doubt. Then see exactly what it is that you are doubting. Find the proof that will crush the doubt.

For example, if you don't think you can run a mile in under 10 minutes, remember that one time you did. Or look at how close you've come to running the mile in under ten minutes. That is proof that you are working on it and if you push a bit more, you will make it happen.

This can apply to almost everything you do in life.

Look at the proof

In my case, my proof is in the time I spent taking my cert courses. The certificates I hold. And the joy I get when I get to help just one more person realize that they can take this second to turn her life into the direction of her dreams.

Sorry for the long rant. I did say I was triggered lol.

Thanks for reading!

PS: Deal with the doubt, and stop feeling like an impostor. That's my homework for today 😉
