Have you ever stopped to think about what your daily routines and habits mean?
Take a minute to think about the trends in your life. How do they describe you? Are they in line with who you want to become? Remember that our habits are the building blocks of who we are and how we get where we are going.
This is a friendly reminder to look at the habits that drive how you act. Do they make you feel good and help you reach your goals? Or are they keeping you from being as good as you could be? The first step to making good changes is to be aware of them.
If you are constantly arriving late to work, for example, that means that you are in the habit of leaving the house late. The great news is that habits can be changed. You can then become in the habit of checking your traffic app before leaving home, packing your bags and lunch the night before, or leaving earlier in the morning.
Take advantage of the chance to form habits that represent your values and goals. Start small, but do so with a plan. Pick habits that are good for your mind, body, and soul. Every good choice counts, whether it’s reading, working out, being grateful, or doing acts of kindness.
I know that for many of us, it’s easy to dive into “all or nothing” mode. How about we get in the habit of getting into the “something is something” mode?
Keep in mind that how frequently you do these things really shapes your life. Be kind to yourself as you go on this journey of self-discovery. It takes time and work to make changes. But with each step you make on purpose, you’ll get closer to the best version of yourself.
So, let your patterns show that you are strong, able to bounce back and that you are constantly growing. Let your habits show what an amazing person you can become. Believe that you can change your life for the better, one good habit at a time.
