We all want to feel amazing about ourselves. With confidence, our emotional and mental health is better. You see the impact confidence has in your behavior, personal relationships and even in your professional life! Your quality of life improves drastically when you have confidence.
Can exercise help? Absolutely. One of the best ways to boost your self-confidence is by exercising more. And of course, exercising has many health benefits as well.
Ways Exercise Boosts Your Self Confidence
Manage your Weight
When you eat healthy and exercise you can manage your weight or lose weight if you need it. Weight management is important because there are many illnesses associated with body fat gain. Here are a few examples:
- Joint inflamation
- joint pain
- blood disorders/illness
- blood pressure
- sugar imbalance
- low energy
- low moods
...just to name a few.
Your Mood Improves
When you workout, brain chemicals like dopamine and serotonin are stimulated. These chemicals promote a general feeling of well-being. Your workout session can result in a reduction in stress and anxiety.
The best news is that you can workout from anywhere! You don't need a fancy gym or expensive home equipment. Even though I have a fully set-up fitness studio, I still feel the benefits when I walk at the nearby trail. So I can tell you from experience that you do not need a gym or equipment.
Anything that makes your bodywork physically harder can be a workout. Get a free training session right now for a full-body workout.
It's Good for Your Heart
One great way to lower the risk of heart-related conditions is by working out. You can lower blood pressure, help fight heart disease or even reduce your chances for diabetes. Walking, dancing, jogging, running, going up and down the stairs, vacuuming, etc is good for heart health. Many of my own family members have had a history of heart disease. So I want to be ahead of this and make sure to prioritize my cardio as often as I can every week. If you also come from a family that has a history of heart disease, you should pick an activity you enjoy and do it often.
Keeps Your Body in Shape
To be in shape is to move without pain. To have proper posture. To be in shape is not just having excess muscles or weight a specific way. Think about it, when you are in shape with proper posture and healthy joints, your confidence will be in shape as well. Why? Because when you feel good about yourself, it's easier to feel confident.
Give You More Energy
Exercising helps you feel better about yourself because you gain energy. Movement generates more energy. If you feel you are going through a slump, drag yourself up and start moving.
It only takes a few baby steps to get up and move. You can do it. If you are having trouble getting motivation or staying motivated, work with an accountability coach! You can also exercises you can do to get energized.
Your Quality of Sleep Improves
Regular exercise promotes good sleep. You can bust your booty at the gym a few days a week but if you don't sleep well, it's all for nothing.
We haven't even covered all the ways that your confidence and health is boosted by exercise. But for starters let's just say that adding as little as 30 minutes of exercise per day can add years to your life.
If that sounds like too much, then add 30 minutes of exercise to 3 to 4 days out of the week.
